How Many Dog Treats Are Too Many?

Meriam-Webster.com defines treat as "an especially unexpected source of joy, delight, or amusement." Therefore, treats for our dogs should be considered something special. If we are rewarding our dogs for doing something good or for a special event, why not make sure it is good for them?

Treats are not filled with enough nutrient-based ingredients to replace a meal, nor should they. Additionally, many store-bought manufactured treats are unhealthy because they are filled with lots of carbohydrates and wasted calories from fillers. This can lead to obesity or other health related issues over time. When you give your dog a treat you want to know that it is good for them.

By limiting treats to 10% of their daily caloric intake and only giving treats that are healthy, you can help your dog avoid unnecessary health risks. You will also avoid messing up the balance of their daily nutrition.

Give your dog homemade healthy treats from Wiggle Wag Originals and make him/her wiggle and wag with excitement! Dogs love the taste and pet parents love the feeling of doing something good for their fur-baby.
